The 12th meeting of the European Coin Find Network (ECFN) will be held at the Institute of Archaeology, University College London on September 4th-5th 2025.
We invite paper proposals on any aspect of the study of coin finds especially:
· Digital aspects of the recording and analysis of coins, coin collections and coin finds;
· the application of Al to the study of coin finds;
· coins, coin finds and the public.
Papers are invited for longer form (15 + 5 minutes) and in lightning form (5 minutes).
Posters proposals are also welcome.

The CoinFindsViewer project, directed by Stefan Krmnicek, Faculty of Humanities, Eberhard Karls University Tübingen, represents the first large-scale visualization of Roman coin find data in southern Germany. It enables users to interactively explore the dataset along the Roman frontier, the Limes, and its hinterland across various historical periods. CoinFindsViewer emerged from a collaboration between the Master’s specialization in Digital Humanities and Project B02 of the Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) 1391.

NOMISMATA is the geo- and chrono-referenced database of Byzantine coin finds from archaeological contexts (498–1453). It provides a fundamental research tool for scholars of economic, monetary, and political history of the Byzantine world, and is available for online consultation.

Many congratulations to PIerre-Marie Guihard and his colleagues on the launch of a new version the online coin find database NUMMUS, covering ancient, medieval and modern coin finds.
Initiated by the service de numismatique du Centre Michel de Boüard-CRAHAM (UMR CNRS 6273) de l’Université de Caen Normandie, Nummus 2 was developed together with the pôle Document numérique de la MRSH de Caen.

The meeting itself will take place on November 6th-7th in the museum, with two full days of papers and posters.
There will be an optional excursion on November 8th.

There are several hotels in Haarlem (see https://www.ebooking.com/gb/c/b-hotels-haarlem/) and the town is only 15 minutes by train from Amsterdam Central.
Haarlem is close to Schiphol Airport.
Taxis cost some 45,- € for a single trip,
There are direct buses to Haarlem train station (bus line 300, Connexxion Rnet, bus stops B8-B10). The bus stops are situated at Schiphol Plaza, right outside the arrivals hall. Price: about 5,50 € for a single trip. Duration: c. 40 minutes.
Fares are paid with credit card (coins and banknotes are not accepted). You tap in with the card on boarding, and tap out again when you leave the bus.
There is a frequent train service operating until late. It is easiest to travel via Leiden Central to Haarlem. At Leiden you change to an Intercity train to Amsterdam Central getting off at Haarlem. Price: about 8,10 € for a single trip. Duration c. 40 minutes
Tickets for the trains can be bought at machines close to the entrances to the platforms.
